The Family Fun Continues Inside

As the saying goes, life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass – it’s about learning to dance in the rain! While we can’t promise you won’t have a little rain on your Youghal holiday, we CAN tell you that we have a wealth of wonderful things to do indoors, so that you and your family can holiday on regardless!

So, here’s our pick of favourite under-cover activities and attractions:

1. Visit Youghal Clock Gate Tower

Have a “Hear, See, Touch” experience at Youghal Clock Gate Tower! An incredible, immersive tour comprising audio visual displays, exhibits and important historical artefacts lets you travel through time to witness the life-stages of this iconic building. Costumed guides will take you across four floors of history – from the 16th century to the current day – and you’ll experience everything from bustling medieval market trade life to pirate drama and emotional family stories. To top off your tour you’ll arrive at the spectacular roof-top viewing platform – and you’ll definitely need your camera for this one!

4. Take a Guided Tour of St Mary’s Collegiate Church

Head for Youghal’s historic Raleigh Quarter and explore the wonder and majesty of this famous national monument that dates to 13th century Ireland. One of Ireland’s oldest churches, St Mary’s Medieval Church is a showcase for incredible architecture, with beautiful woodwork and ironwork, tomb sculpture and a Bishop’s Throne and Pulpit. Your family will love the ‘Voices of St Mary’s’ immersive experience, which brings to life the story of the Church as the fictitious Roe family shares their cherished family memories.

Just an easy 15-minute drive from Youghal is the wonderful Ardmore Open Farm – with its many fun indoor activities to cater for all age groups.

Or, head off to nearby Dungourney to Leahy’s Open Farm (a 30- minute drive) which offers non-stop indoor fun, including karting at Farmer’s Fun House, slides and a sandpit in the Indoor Play Barn, and Nan’s Nook Museum.
