Reach Back to the Past

Reconnect with the Present

“The past speaks to us in a thousand voices, warning and comforting, animating and stirring to action.”

– Felix Adler

The past is never just what we leave behind. It is also what we bring into the future. It is dynamic and evolving – living on in our rituals and collective memory. This is the spirit of St Mary’s Collegiate Church in Youghal – a much loved church, a timeless sanctuary and a living community hub.

A place where past meets present.

With its roots in the early Christian era of 13th century Ireland, St Mary’s Collegiate Church is one of the oldest churches in County Cork and one of the most beautiful and important medieval buildings in Ireland. Renowned for its magnificent architecture, its 14th century oak roof structure, its fascinating plaques and effigies, it brings the past tangibly to life.
