St Mary’s Collegiate Church
Youghal’s Historic Music Venue
“
“Music can name the unnameable and communicate the unknowable.”
– Leonard Bernstein
Since its foundation in 1220, St Mary’s Collegiate Church has been the beating heart of Youghal – and music has always been its rhythm. Down through the ages the church has a rich history of music, which has seen people come together in song and celebration. From 2005, music was provided by ‘The Clerks Choral’, which sang traditional Anglican repertoire – and to this day, sound, colour and joy fills the church as we welcome a wealth of community events and performances.
We host concerts, temporary exhibitions, recitals, plays, operas and seasonal gatherings, while we are also the venue of choice for launches of events such as the Youghal Medieval Festival.
It would be our pleasure to welcome your special event – and our production team is happy to assist you with your specific requirements and ideas.
Ancient beauty, architectural wonder, and a deep sense of history, peace and spirituality. It all combines to make St Mary’s Collegiate Church the perfect home for music and performance arts.
The Space
The church is a 300-seater venue with a mobile stage which can be specifically constructed to suit your needs. You are also free to discuss with us any bespoke requirements you may have.
There is a private room (the vestry) which artists can use during a concert or performance.
